Known as the "Coulée Verte," the Promenade du Paillon is a real 12-hectare green lung right in the heart of downtown Nice.
Located in the very heart of the city of Nice, the Promenade du Paillon is a 12-hectare verdant park connecting the Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain (MAMAC) to the famous Promenade des Anglais, crossing Place Masséna on the way. Inaugurated in 2013, it offers a real bucolic trail through nearly 1,600 trees, 6,000 shrubs and 50,000 perennial plants. At its core, a huge reflecting pool with 128 jets stimulates the admiration of passers-by when, at nightfall, it is lit up with a thousand and one sparkling lights. In summer, you often meet holidaymakers taking a photo as a pretext for cooling down here.
The park is also punctuated with outdoor areas and playground facilities for children, in the shape of giant marine animals. Open seven days a week from morning to evening, the Promenade du Paillon is an ideal place for a walk in the heart of the city, which holidaymakers appreciate as much as the locals who love to use it to switch off from daily life. Note that events are regularly organised there. In particular, exhibitions and shows can be found on the Vieux Nice side, as well as major events, such as Nice Jazz Festival, on the Jardin Albert 1er side.
