Wine tasting at the Rasse wine cellar in Saint-Jeannet

I had the excellent idea of attending a wine tasting at the Rasse wine cellar and was thrilled. Located 15 minutes from the coast, between the Mediterranean and the mountains, the vineyard is at the foot of the Baou de Saint-Jeannet, and has a sea view. What an idyllic place!

Our visit begins with a brief presentation of the estate, followed by an explanation from the winemaker about the different grape varieties grown in the vineyard. We thus discover that in ancient times the Romans were already working these lands and producing grapes.
Savouring the suave contents of the smooth wineglass with our eyes fixed on the horizon and intent on listening to our host’s explanations, it is difficult to choose which of the 5 senses to focus on.

Comfortably seated in the shade of the pergola overlooking the sea, we tasted eight wines, in the three colours white, red and rosé: Cuvées La Fontaine, Principium, Tuilé de Saint-Jeannet and Baussum, produced under the Provençal sun, accompanied by mouth-watering dishes based on local products (tapenades, cheeses, charcuterie and chocolate).

“It’s so beautiful here. We could stay for hours.”

Alexandre A.

At the end of this pleasant exchange, the winemaker in no way pressed us to visit the shop. But it was inconceivable to me that we would leave empty-handed.

This tasting itinerary is an experience you should treat yourself to, to find out more about the appellations and appreciate these exceptional wines!
