Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat seen from the sea … Come and discover it!

Although boats are not my favorite means of transportation, the sea trip around the peninsula of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat to discover the magnificent homes of celebrities tempted me!

The departure is from the port of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, where there is a reception desk to pick up my ticket. I am received with a big smile by a hostess.

Direction the boarding pier … The “Mermaid” arrives … a very nice name for a boat … The staff gives me a booklet with the detailed explanations of this trip; I go aboard. For seating, I’m spoiled for choice: at the front, inside sheltered from the sun and the sea breeze, in the back. The departure is imminent …

We’re off for a ride lasting 1:15 hrs … the weather is favorable, the Mediterranean Sea is calm, the azure sky is drowned in the crystal clear water, the reflections of the sun shine like a thousand lights on the horizon, the coast is emerging … How beautiful this region is…

The hostess tells the story of this small village of fishermen and farmers, the landscape of arid and rocky land that, over the years, has transformed into welcoming the rich visitors over the winter period …

I am captivated by the history of all these sumptuous villas, atypical for some, artistic for others … Many celebrities have tasted the pleasures of this exceptional site: Isadora Duncan, Paloma Picasso, Edith Piaf, Jean Cocteau, the King of Belgian Leopold II, Ray Charles, Bourvil, Brigitte Bardot, Winston Churchill, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt … Cinema scenes were filmed: The Avengers, 50 shades lighter, To Catch a Thief … But I won’t tell you more … I recommend this activity!
