Facing due south, Roure take advandatge of an attractive climate, protected from the prevailing winds. The construction of its violet-coloured houses, with their agro-pastoral architecture, is characteristic of the valley. The Marcel Kroenlein Arboretum in Roure is home to trees from the world’s mountains, as well as collections of conifers, maples, houseleeks and junipers. It is the only high-altitude arboretum linked to art.
