Following its recognised expertise in hosting major sporting events (UEFA, Euro 2016, 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Tour de France, 2023 Rugby World Cup, IronMan, etc.) and its election as “best host” at UEFA 2016, Nice Côte d’Azur is hosting 6 football matches at the prestigious 2024 Olympic Games!

Nice is a popular destination for major sporting events! This dynamism, combined with first-rate infrastructures, will attract thousands of spectators from all over the world, reinforcing the city’s reputation as an international sports Mecca.

💡 Did you know? The Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games will be held on Friday 26 July from 7.30pm to 11pm on the Seine between the Pont d’Austerlitz and the Pont d’Iéna in Paris.

Football at the Stade de Nice ⚽️

The Stade de Nice will host 6 football matches, including three women’s matches and three men’s matches, from 24 to 31 July 2024.

  • Wednesday, July 24 at 5pm: Men’s soccer – Guinea vs. New Zealand
  • Thursday, July 25 at 9pm : Women’s soccer – USA vs. Zambia
  • Saturday, July 27 at 9pm: Men’s soccer – France vs. Guinea
  • Sunday, July 28 at 7pm: Women’s soccer – Australia vs. Zambia
  • Tuesday, July 30 at 5pm: Men’s soccer – Morocco vs. Irak
  • Wednesday, July 31 at 9pm: Women’s soccer – Colombia vs. Canada

Training ground for the Olympic Games

Before taking part in the world’s most prestigious sporting event, the athletes from the various Olympic delegations fine-tune their preparations at officially listed training sites.

Nice Côte d’Azur has 20 municipalities that have been awarded the “Land of the 2024 Games” label: Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Cap d’Ail, Levens, Nice, Beaulieu-sur-mer, Bonson, Carros, Castagniers, Colomars, Drap, Falicon, La Gaude, La Trinité, Levens, Roquebillière, Saint-André-de-la-Roche, Saint-Etienne-de-Tinée, Tourette-Levens, Villefranche-sur-mer and Vence.
