Nice, nicknamed the Historic City of Triathlon, has been selected to co-host the IRONMAN World Championships alongside Hawaii. Thanks to this world-renowned event, Nice retains its status as Europe’s leading city for long-distance triathlon and strengthens its position as a sports destination hosting large-scale international events.
After hosting the men’s event in September 2023, Nice will now host the women’s event on September 22, 2024. The men’s 2024 World Championships will be held in the Hawaiian town of Kona.

The women’s professional triathletes will embark on a 140.6-kilometer sporting epic. This race will take them through a swim in the sea, a technical cycling course in the hinterland, and a run along the Promenade des Anglais.
The event will take place from the Baie des Anges to the mountain peaks of Nice Côte d’Azur. You’ll be able to contemplate the fascinating architecture of the old town, admire the coastline bathed in azure light, and soak up the sun’s rays. While the triathlon community, one of the most emblematic in France, will carry participants to the finish line of this exceptional championship.
