Nice, Capital of the Sea in 2025! 🌊
Dive into a year dedicated to the oceans! From September 2024 to September 2025, France is celebrating the Year of the Sea, a national initiative to raise awareness of the vital importance of the oceans. This celebration takes on a special dimension in Nice, where the ocean meets art, culture and science in a unique program.
In preparation for the United Nations Conference on the Oceans (UNOC-3) to be held in June 2025, Nice is already gearing up to be the stage for this global event, aimed at transforming our collective approach to safeguarding the seas.
From September 2024 to September 2025, Nice will come alive with an artistic and cultural program dedicated to the sea, with events such as the European Heritage Days and the Fête de la Science.
The city is also preparing the Biennale des Arts et de l’Océan 2025, which will explore the links between art and science to raise awareness of environmental challenges. A Call for Expressions of Interest invites local talent to participate in this initiative. The Year of the Sea is an opportunity to rethink our relationship with the ocean and take action for its future protection.
