Extension of the Promenade du Paillon
For over 10 years, the Promenade du Paillon has symbolized the landscape renewal of Nice Côte d’Azur. Work is well underway, extending the urban oasis over a further 8 hectares. This extension offers new ecological, economic and cultural perspectives.
The green lung in the heart of Nice will extend all the way to the Palais des Expositions! Scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025, the project is progressing rapidly, promising a major transformation of Nice Côte d’Azur into a green, sustainable destination.

💡 Did you know? The future urban forest will offer a variety of experiences, from soothing undergrowth to playful trails. Ecological management and permeable soils will also help preserve biodiversity and purify the urban air.
An ecological and sustainable project
Season 2 of the Promenade du Paillon extends its verdant footprint by forming a veritable urban forest covering almost 20 hectares. With over 1,500 additional trees planted, it will promote biodiversity and create shady areas ideal for relaxing. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, this initiative is committed to preserving the environment. By adopting zero-phyto management and favoring permeable soils, the Promenade du Paillon will help reduce atmospheric pollution, absorb CO2 and mitigate urban heat islands.
In a sustainable perspective, emblematic elements such as the Louis Nucéra Library and the Promenade des Arts parking lot will be preserved, thus reducing the consumption of primary resources. The renovation of the MAMAC and the enhancement of the Louis Nucéra Library will blend in perfectly with the green setting of this strolling and relaxation area.
