Rescue Zone, a must-have at sea! 🌊
Rescue Zone is a free community application available on Android and IOS, dedicated to helping other boaters. Thanks to this app, boaters who don’t have a VHF (radio) or AIS (geolocation) can report problems to each other, and get help from neighboring boats or coastal rescue services.
Today, 70% of boats under 7 meters do not have this type of equipment. And yet 100% of them have a smartphone. That’s why this application has been created for all boaters: boat captains, kayakers, jet skiers, kiters…
The different application modes📱
- Get a hand : this is a signal to users that someone needs help. This feature does not alert emergency services, and should only be used if the problem is not an emergency. After selecting the boat that will come to your aid, a beam will guide it towards the boat in distress.
- Pan-Pan : this is an emergency safety signal that does not affect the integrity of the people on board or the boat. Following this alert, the application sends a signal to surrounding boats and proposes direct contact with the emergency services.
- Mayday : this is a safety signal in the event of a serious situation affecting people or the boat: water ingress, man overboard, fire. This signal sends the necessary information to boats in the area for rapid rescue, and puts the caller directly in touch with the emergency services.
- Fishing spot locator : this system lets you save your favorite fishing spots so you can find them more easily the next time you’re out on the water.
- Logbook : this new feature enables users to keep an automatic, detailed log of their sea trips. Recording your trips gives you an overview of your route and navigation history, including a logbook with trip duration, number of people, distance covered, mapped route…

In order to be rescued as efficiently as possible, boaters must enter certain key information, such as their boat details, when opening an account. For example, we ask for the boat’s appearance, length, contact details, number of people on board…
Declare your outing when you get on board!
Following the sending of a Mayday signal, the app will send a notification to nearby boats, which will receive the detailed alert and put you in touch with the emergency services. What’s more, it’s now possible to report an incident at sea involving a third party directly via the app, whether you’re still at sea or on land, from the beach for example.
