Nice Côte d’Azur posts remarkable results for the first half of 2024

The first half of 2024 was marked by exceptional tourism performances for Nice Côte d’Azur, consolidating its driving role in the region’s appeal. Every month, the destination recorded a significant increase in occupancy rate and RevPAR, up +3.4 points and +11.6% respectively on last year.

In January, the occupancy rate reached 48%, an increase of 2.5 points on the previous year. In February, this rate climbed to 61%, representing an increase of 5.2 points compared to 2023. March continued this positive trend with an occupancy rate of 69%, up 4.4 points. In April, the occupancy rate was 79.5%, an increase of 2.5 points. May recorded a remarkable occupancy rate of 84.8%, up 5.6 points on 2023. Finally, in June, occupancy stabilized at 89.6%, identical to the previous year.

Nice Côte d’Azur, outlook for the second half of 2024

The second quarter reinforced these results, thanks to the school vacations and mild spring sunshine, which attracted foreign customers ahead of the peak summer season. French visitors also contributed to this growth, particularly during the May long weekends.

The outlook for summer and autumn is just as promising. A wide-ranging calendar of events and sports: the arrival of the Tour de France, the Étape du Tour, the women’s IronMan World Championships and the Nice Jazz Fest, promises to attract a large audience.

In July, there was a peak in bookings for the weekend of July 20, due to the arrival of the Tour de France. For August, booking rates remain stable and above those of August 2023. In September, booking rates are significantly higher (+10 points) than in September 2023, particularly during the week of the Ironman Women’s World Championships, from September 16 to 22, 2024.

Conclusion

The first half of 2024 ended on a very positive note for Nice Côte d’Azur. The destination continues to stand out for its attractiveness and tourism performance, auguring an equally successful summer and autumn season. The destination’s dynamic events and sports scene ensures Nice Côte d’Azur a prime position on the international tourism scene.
