"Under the Skin of Josephine" is a one-man show retracing the heroic story of the woman known as Josephine Baker.

The fire burning under her skin gave her the courage to flee the segregation of St Louis, where she worked for white families from the age of 7. She still found the courage to flee the men she was married to when she was very young. And finally, she arrived in Paris, a land of freedom that marked the beginning of her career.

This show is a journey through her songs, her dances, her emotions, to tell the highlights of her life as an artist, but especially as a woman, an activist and a mother. More than a portrait, it is a true tribute to the world's first black star.

After training at the Conservatoire de Charleville-Mézières, then at the Académie Internationale de la Danse in Paris, Sofia Naït embraced a career as a dancer, singer and actress. She works, among others, with Jérôme Savary, Thomas Dutronc, Kad Merad and performs on stages as prestigious as the Théâtre Mogador, the Casino de Paris or the Opéra National du Rhin.
