Located to the north of Nice, in the charming Saint Maurice district, Parc Chambrun is particularly appreciated for its huge green areas and its old bandstand: the majestic Temple de l'Amour.
A short walk from Nice City Centre, Parc Chambrun is located at the heart of the quiet residential Saint Maurice district, close to Jeanne d'Arc Church and the old Stade du Ray. In addition to its green spaces of 1.1 hectares, it is appreciated for its bandstand, designed by Nice architect Philippe Randon in 1890 and whose architecture is inspired by the Temple of the Sibyl in Tivoli. Nicknamed the Temple of Love, it consists of a dozen 20-metre high white marble columns topped by a carved roof.
Originally, the Palais de Glace was enthroned in the centre of the park. This was a skating rink, the first in the city, which was unfortunately destroyed during the First World War. Today, Parc Chambrun is a place little known to holidaymakers. It is mainly frequented by locals who enjoy walking in this small haven of peace. As its name suggests, it is also here that lovers like to meet for a romantic walk away from prying eyes.
