Inaugurated in a room in the Maison des Associations, right in the centre of town, this Micro-Folie is a new cultural boost for Cagnes-sur-Mer!
The Micro-Folie programme is a cultural policy initiative supported by the Ministry of Culture and coordinated by La Villette in association with 12 institutions: the Centre Pompidou, the Château de Versailles, the Cité de la Musique - Philharmonie de Paris, the Festival d'Avignon, the Institut du monde arabe, the Louvre, the Musée national Picasso-Paris, the Musée d'Orsay, the Musée du quai Branly-Jacques Chirac, the Opéra national de Paris, the Réunion des musées nationaux - Grand Palais, and Universcience. Inspired by the iconic Folies du Parc de la Villette designed by architect Bernard Tschumi, the Micros-Folies are innovative cultural venues.
Their mission is to
- To reduce geographical inequalities by offering local residents access to the treasures of the greatest regional, national and international cultural institutions, through the digital museum.
- To bring life to the region by creating a new living space that is friendly and accessible to all.
- To be part of a network that pools resources and supports local artists and associations through an artistic cooperative.
