Thanks to its privileged position, the Bellanda tower offers one of the most beautiful views of the Bay of Angels and tells us the multi-millennial history of the Castle hill.
The Tour Bellanda is an exceptional place which tells the story of Nice. Initially dedicated to the defence of the city, it has nowadays become an essential viewpoint for holidaymakers who can climb there to admire the most beautiful view of the Baie des Anges. Accessible by the elevator from the foot of the hill, the more hardy can climb to the top by the Lesage stairs, which, although impressive, are ultimately not so difficult to climb. Indeed, as you climb the flights, the landscape which gradually emerges before your eyes is so sublime that you almost forget the effort you are making to access it.
Once at the top of the tower, you find yourself on a panoramic terrace with a breath-taking view. Only a gatehouse is enthroned there, right in the middle. It is said that in 1844 the composer Hector Berlioz lived under its ceramic mosaic decorated dome.
