In 2024, Kassovitz is back with a lively, immersive creation. The director revisits the story of his cult film by adapting it for the stage, underlining the eminently topical nature of the film.
On 31 May 1995, Mathieu Kassovitz brought the suburbs to the screen for the first time. The film starred 3 actors (Vinz, Said and Hubert) who were as yet unknown to the public.
The story of these 3 young people confronted with economic, social and political difficulties, and the condition of women, is an ode to love, solidarity and friendship.
It's a project rooted in current events, and its innovative form is designed to take spectators on a 'ride' through Paris and its suburbs, thanks to a unique device that combines the stage and the screen: 14 scenes inspired by the film, redesigned by Mathieu Kassovitz, will be shown on a projection system, coupled with the sets and above all with the performances of the actors on stage.
The show combines dance, film, rap, theatre and live performance in an augmented form that is resolutely modern and unique, supported by an original soundtrack that also makes the link between the 90s and today.
