Meeting with Elsa Simon, doctoral student at IMEV (Villefranche Sea Institute) Solène Motreuil and Louis Caray, assistant engineers at IMEV.

In the sunlit layer of the world's ocean, phytoplankton absorb CO2 by photosynthesizing and then this carbon is transferred to the depths in the form of organic matter.

This mechanism, called a "biological carbon pump", is crucial for the absorption of CO2 by the ocean.
