Perched 429 metres above the sea, the exotic garden is a veritable break from nature, in the heart of the picturesque village of Eze, around ten kilometres from Nice. The panorama is one of the most exceptional on the Riviera.
Eze's Exotic Garden is located in the heart of the charming historic village, a short walk from the little paved streets which have kept their authentic identity of long ago. After the Second World War, the mayor of the time decided to create a magnificent exotic garden in the midst of the ruins of a former mediaeval fortress, destroyed in 1706. Yuccas, agaves, cacti and aloes offer a sensory escape in the heart of the Côte d'Azur. While the south part has a large collection of cacti, succulents and other exotic species from the four corners of the world, the north part of the garden is mainly dedicated to Mediterranean flora.
The other special feature of this sublime garden is its hillside location which offers a stunning view over the sea during the entire visit. It is open all year-round, accessible at an attractive price ranging from 4 to 6 euros depending on the season. For its cultural, historical, aesthetic and botanical interest, the Exotic Garden of Eze was awarded the precious French label as a Remarkable Garden.
