The work of architect René Livieri, the building includes, upon completion in 1952, apartments and a travelers' hotel.
It is characteristic of the post-war building in Nice, reinventing the monumental aspect of its predecessors: rounded treatment of the angle, spindly balconies and elaborate decoration (ironwork, large corner brackets, sculpted composition above the entrance...).
