Ribà-Moya: resonant duality’ exhibition

Exhibition

From 16 March to 09 June 2025

From 16/03 to 09/06/2025.
Closed on Tuesday.

The Château-Musée Grimaldi presents the exhibition ‘Ribà-Moya: resonant duality’, conceived by Simone Dibo-Cohen, the exhibition's curator and president of the Union Méditerranéenne pour l'Art Moderne.
Opening on Sunday 16 March at 3pm.

The exhibition is divided into two sections, the first devoted to the work of Pierre Ribà and the second to that of Patrick Moya.

The exhibition begins on the 1st floor with works by Pierre Ribà, famous for his cardboard sculptures. The artist is exhibiting some forty works with enigmatic shapes that seem to be imbued with a higher, ancestral power.

In each sculpture, beyond the homogeneous mass, the eye can discover a structured world made up of openings, cracks and tears carved into the material. With their affinity for simple, uncluttered forms, Ribà's works, often inspired by nature, reveal their pure essence: ‘Behind the incessant transformation of forms... the essential remains’, Pierre Ribà.

The exhibition continues on the 2nd floor with a presentation of the performance work of Patrick Moya, who shares his world with the public and returns to Cagnes-sur-Mer, the starting point of the path he has travelled since the 1970s.

Painter, sculptor, digital artist and creator of virtual worlds, Moya humorously unfolds a futuristic and colourful environment. Through his famous little character and alter ego, ‘Moya’, he gives the artist a central place within his work. He explores new technologies, creating immersive virtual worlds in which visitors can interact.
This exhibition highlights his artistic performances and his offbeat universe populated by imaginary creatures.
