A long circuit whose ascent to the Cime de la Bercha (2,274 m), the high point of the itinerary, is via mechanical lifts from the resort of Auron (the Pinatelle cable car and the Gaudissart chair lift operate in July and August).
After admiring the superb view over the Haute Tinée, head off on broad downwards paths through the pastures and woods of Chalvet. On reaching the valley of Demandols, you can visit the diary, once occupied by herds of sheep, evidence of which are the 150 rings attached to the walls. Today herds of ewes are sheltered in this building from July to October. Lower down, on the cliffs dominating the valley, numerous waterfalls mark the route, with the spectacular Pis de l’Aiga worth a stop.
