He thus participates in what Alfred Jarry called pataphysics*: “the science of imaginary solutions, which symbolically grants lineaments the properties of objects described by their virtuality”.

These objects-works invite contemplation, meditation, carried away by the repetition of certain mechanical gestures or repetitive and soothing noise.

Some pieces are not mechanized, such as Cosmic Disco (2023), where Arnaud Biais reconstructs a mobile cosmography with chains, disco balls, scaffolding elements; but also a photocopier stripped of its outer shell and dressed up with screens that offer us synchronized video projections, forcing us to turn around the object.

These works question our relationship to things and the understanding we think we have of them. Their diversion, initiated by the artist, offers a new representation and a new perception of the initial function.
It is up to the viewer to form his or her own understanding in complete freedom.
